
LPG cylinder prices reduced for commercial gas in January 2025, offering relief in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata.

On January 1, 2025, oil and gas companies made an announcement that will benefit LPG consumers. The prices of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders have been reduced by 14 to 16 rupees in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata. However, the price of the 14 kg domestic LPG cylinders has not changed, and it will remain the same.

The last time the price of a 19 kg LPG cylinder changed before this January was on December 1, 2024, when it went up by Rs 16.50. Over the past few months, the prices had been increasing steadily. But now, after five months, consumers can enjoy a price reduction for commercial cylinders.
The prices for 14 kg domestic LPG cylinders have remained the same for a long time. Since August 1, 2024, there has been no change in the prices. On January 1, 2025, the prices will remain as follows:
The government provides subsidies to women from low-income families through the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana and the National Food Security Scheme. This allows them to buy domestic LPG cylinders at much lower rates. For example:

This reduction in LPG cylinder prices will bring some relief to consumers, especially those using commercial cylinders. However, the prices of domestic cylinders remain stable, with the added benefit of subsidies for women in need.
