Under the Mukhya Mantri Krashak Uphar Yojana scheme, farmers are eligible to receive prize coupons based on their mandi transactions of ₹5,000 and above on monthly, quarterly, and half-yearly basis.

In a significant move to honour and uplift the farming community, the Uttar Pradesh government is gearing up to distribute tractors and various gifts to 93 fortunate farmers on the occasion of Kisan Samman Diwas.
The eagerly awaited event is scheduled for December 23, with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath personally presenting keys to 51 farmers during a state-level function at Lok Bhavan. This annual celebration, observed on the birth anniversary of the late Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh, holds a special place in recognizing the invaluable contributions of farmers to the nation.
This initiative is part of the 'Mukhya Mantri Krashak Uphar Yojana,' which was launched by the Mandi Parishad in 2003. The primary objective of the scheme is to encourage farmers to bring their agricultural produce to market committees (mandis) for sale.
Under the scheme, farmers are eligible to receive prize coupons based on their mandi transactions of ₹5,000 and above on a monthly, quarterly, and half-yearly basis. The program's highlight is the distribution of tractors and other gifts through a lucky draw system. A senior Mandi Parishad official disclosed that the last tractor distribution occurred in December 2021.
Tractors, along with various other items, are centrally procured by the Mandi Parishad and distributed to farmers through a fair and transparent lucky draw mechanism. The 'Mukhya Mantri Krashak Uphar Yojana' has undergone several amendments and upgrades over the years, introducing six-monthly bumper draws intended to distribute two tractors (35 HP) in each of the 18 divisions to the farmers winning the first prize.

The Yogi Adityanath government restored this project in December 2020, during countrywide farmer demonstrations against the central government's controversial three agriculture legislation (since overturned).
The gesture was interpreted as an attempt to bridge the gap and develop goodwill with the protesting farmers. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave tractor keys at a state-level gathering for the first time, marking a big step toward acknowledging farmers' important contribution to the agricultural industry.
As the state prepares for Kisan Samman Diwas, the distribution of tractors represents the real help, and is a sign of appreciation for the hard work and dedication shown by farmers throughout Uttar Pradesh.

Despite facing challenges in conducting annual bumper draws, the commitment to supporting farmers has remained steady. Division-level committees, led by divisional commissioners, play a crucial role in procuring additional gifts, ensuring a decentralised approach to the distribution process.
This thoughtful initiative reflects the government's dedication to recognizing the role played by farmers in the nation's progress and prosperity.
