Rain & Snow in Northern India

A western disturbance and associated cyclonic circulations over central Pakistan and northeast Assam will bring rain and snowfall to northern and northeastern states.

Regions & Expected Weather (March 28-29):

  • Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad – Light to moderate rainfall, thunderstorms, and gusty winds (40-50 kmph).

  • Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand – Thunderstorms and lightning.

  • Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim – Scattered to widespread rainfall.

  • Arunachal Pradesh – Heavy rainfall and snowfall at isolated places.

Strong Winds in Northwest India

  • Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, West Uttar Pradesh – Surface winds (25-35 kmph) on March 28.

  • West Rajasthan – Dust-raising winds (20-30 kmph) on March 28.

Rain, Thunderstorms, & Gusty Winds in Central & South India

A north- south trough from north Madhya Maharashtra to north Kerala will bring isolated to scattered rainfall with thunderstorms and gusty winds (30-50 kmph).

Regions & Expected Weather:

  • March 29-30: Madhya Maharashtra, North Interior Karnataka

  • March 29: Konkan & Goa

  • March 30: Marathwada

  • March 28-31: Kerala & Mahe, South Interior Karnataka

  • March 30-31: Coastal Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam

Temperature Trends

  • Northwest India – Drop by 3-5°C over the next 3 days, followed by a slight rise.

  • East India – Rise by 2-3°C over the next 2 days.

  • Gujarat – No change initially, then a 2-3°C rise in 3 days.

  • Central India – Drop by 2-3°C, then stable.

Heatwave & Hot Weather in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, & Gujarat

IMD has issued a heatwave warning for interior Odisha from March 28 to 30. Hot and humid conditions will prevail in Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam (March 28-29), and Coastal Gujarat (March 29-31).

Delhi-NCR Weather Forecast (March 28-30, 2025)

Delhi will experience strong winds (20-30 kmph) on March 28, which will reduce in the following days. Daytime temperatures will range between 32-37°C, while nights will remain at 15-19°C.

Forecast:

  • March 28: Mainly clear, 20-30 kmph winds, 33-35°C (day), 17-19°C (night).

  • March 29: Partly cloudy, 16-20 kmph winds, 32-34°C (day), 15-17°C (night).

  • March 30: Mainly clear, 10-16 kmph winds, 34-36°C (day), 15-17°C (night).
