In a significant move towards enhancing livestock and dairy practices in India, the Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR), under the Government of India, has granted Rs 25 Lakhs to the pioneering precision animal management and feed practices startup, eFeed. The grant ceremony took place at the ICAR campus in Delhi, attracting key figures from ICAR, including joint directors.
Established in December 2020 by visionary entrepreneur Kumar Ranjan, eFeed has positioned itself at the forefront of transforming animal nutrition, health, environmental sustainability, and economic development within the cattle industry. The infusion of funds from ICAR is expected to further move eFeed's innovative initiatives and contribute significantly to the agricultural landscape.
The grant ceremony witnessed an exchange of ideas and collaboration prospects between eFeed and ICAR representatives. Joint directors from ICAR emphasised the importance of supporting innovative startups like eFeed to promote advancements in livestock and dairy practices, ultimately benefitting farmers and the agricultural sector as a whole.
Kumar Ranjan, the founder of eFeed, expressed gratitude for the financial support from ICAR, stating, "This grant will play a crucial role in accelerating our efforts to revolutionise animal nutrition and health practices. eFeed is committed to contributing to the sustainable development of the cattle industry, and with ICAR's support, we aim to reach new heights in precision animal management."
The funds will be directed towards research and development, technology enhancement, and outreach programs to create awareness about modernized livestock and dairy practices promoted by eFeed. The startup visualises a positive approach that will improve the efficiency and productivity of the cattle industry and also ensure the well-being of animals and environmental sustainability.
