The government has launched a scheme to help laborers build their own houses. Under this plan, eligible laborers can receive a grant of Rs 1,50,000 for home construction. If a laborer constructs a house worth Rs 5 lakh, the government will provide a 25% subsidy.

Scheme Name and Benefits

The initiative, called Nirman Shramik Sulabh Awas Yojana, is designed to support workers by offering financial assistance. The grant amount will be directly transferred to the beneficiary’s bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Eligibility Criteria

To avail of the benefits of this scheme, applicants must meet the following conditions:

• Must be a registered laborer in the state for at least one year.

• Should have contributed to the Construction Workers Board for at least one year.

• Must own a plot of land, which should be free from any disputes or mortgages.

• Priority is given to the BPL category, Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), differently abled individuals, and families with two daughters.

• Annual income should not exceed Rs 2.5 lakh.

• Must possess an Aadhaar card or Bhamashah card.

• Should have a bank account linked to Aadhaar.

• Only one grant is allowed per household.

• Worker registration card

• BPL ration card (if applicable)
