Leadership Insights
“FedEx was the first global delivery company to use hybrid-electric vehicles in 2003, and we started using battery-powered vehicles even earlier, in 1994. We’re proud to carry forward this legacy by helping reduce emissions and grow sustainable logistics in India. Our step-by-step and practical approach to adding EVs makes sure we keep serving our customers while cutting down our carbon emissions,” said Suvendu Choudhury, Vice President of Operations, Planning and Engineering for FedEx in India.
This expansion is part of FedEx’s global plan to achieve carbon neutrality by 2040. This move supports its green goals and also includes brand tie-ups to increase visibility. FedEx has rolled out electric vehicles with Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Chennai Super Kings is one of the most popular IPL teams. These co-branded EVs are now running in Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru.
The use of electric vehicles by the company shows a growing change in what consumers expect today. A recent study conducted by FedEx revealed that 90% of Indian consumers prefer companies that focus on sustainability. By choosing clean transport options, FedEx is not only cutting down on carbon emissions and air pollution in cities but also meeting the rising demand for eco-friendly delivery services.
