Escorts Kubota, a joint venture between Escorts Limited and Kubota Corporation, has been a key player in the Indian tractor market, known for its reliable and innovative agricultural machinery.
However, the recent sales report indicates a slowdown in the tractor industry, raising concerns about the broader economic landscape. The Monsoon is the major factor contributing to the decline in tractor sales for Escorts Kubota.
Domestic tractor sales in September 2023 were 10,114 tractors, down from 11,384 in September 2022. The company's domestic tractor sales decreased by 11.2% in September 2023.
In September 2023, Escorts Kubota exported 747 tractors, compared to 848 tractors in September 2022. In the export market, the company's tractor sales were down by 11.9% in September 2023.
Escorts Kubota Tractor’s year-to-date total sales in FY24 were 48,606 units, compared to 50,500 units in FY23. Escorts Kubota Domestic Tractor Sales were 45,699 units in FY24 as compared to 46,004 units in FY23. This shows a decrease in sales by 0.7%.
Escorts Kubota year-to-date exports Tractor Sales were 2,907 units in FY24 as compared to 4,496 units in FY23. This shows a decline in sales by 35.3%.

The company stated in a statement that it anticipates tractor sales to increase in the third quarter of the current fiscal year, despite a drop in September owing to the delayed holiday season.
Because of increasing rainfall, the possibility of a healthy kharif harvest, favourable general macroeconomic variables, and farmer optimism, the firm is confident about the approaching months. Escorts Kubota, like other tractor manufacturers, is expected to bounce back in the upcoming months.
Farmers are cautious due to unpredictable weather conditions and rising input costs.As Escorts Kubota and the entire tractor industry navigate through these challenging times, the focus remains on providing affordable and efficient machinery to Indian farmers.
