EKA Mobility and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on January 29, 2026, to work together on developing sustainable mobility solutions and green energy infrastructure across India. This partnership focuses on expanding electric vehicle (EV) charging and battery swapping infrastructure, especially for commercial electric vehicles.
Under this collaboration, HPCL’s vast fuel retail network will be used to set up EV charging stations and battery swapping facilities wherever required. HPCL currently operates over 24,400 retail outlets across the country and already runs more than 5,300 EV charging stations under its HP e-Charge brand, along with over 150 battery swapping stations.
This existing infrastructure will help in faster deployment and nationwide expansion of EV charging facilities, making electric mobility more accessible and practical for commercial vehicle operators.
The partnership brings together EKA Mobility’s expertise in electric commercial vehicles and HPCL’s strong energy and retail presence. Together, the companies plan to develop, pilot, and scale solutions in key areas such as:
Electric mobility
EV charging infrastructure
Battery swapping
Green hydrogen
Sustainable logistics

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) is a Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India. HPCL is involved in refining, distribution, and marketing of petroleum products and operates a wide network of refineries, pipelines, terminals, and retail outlets across India. Through its HP e-Charge initiative, HPCL is actively expanding EV charging and battery swapping infrastructure nationwide.
This MoU highlights a strong move toward clean energy adoption and green transportation, supporting India’s transition to a more sustainable and future-ready mobility ecosystem.
