EKA Mobility and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on January 29, 2026, to work together on developing sustainable mobility solutions and green energy infrastructure across India. This partnership focuses on expanding electric vehicle (EV) charging and battery swapping infrastructure, especially for commercial electric vehicles.

Focus on EV Charging and Battery Swapping Network

Under this collaboration, HPCL’s vast fuel retail network will be used to set up EV charging stations and battery swapping facilities wherever required. HPCL currently operates over 24,400 retail outlets across the country and already runs more than 5,300 EV charging stations under its HP e-Charge brand, along with over 150 battery swapping stations.

This existing infrastructure will help in faster deployment and nationwide expansion of EV charging facilities, making electric mobility more accessible and practical for commercial vehicle operators.

Strengthening India’s Electric Mobility Ecosystem

The partnership brings together EKA Mobility’s expertise in electric commercial vehicles and HPCL’s strong energy and retail presence. Together, the companies plan to develop, pilot, and scale solutions in key areas such as:

  • Electric mobility

  • EV charging infrastructure

  • Battery swapping

  • Green hydrogen

  • Sustainable logistics

This collaboration marks an important step in EKA Mobility’s vision to build a complete EV ecosystem, covering vehicle manufacturing, charging solutions, after-sales support, green hydrogen, and clean logistics.
