36,000 people to benefit annually from healthcare services.
300+ students supported through education programs.
459 women-led enterprises across 117 SHGs.
150+ women are trained annually for livelihood opportunities.
Eicher Trucks & Buses has inaugurated the Eicher Community Development Centre (E-CDC) in Pithampur, marking a major step towards strengthening community welfare around its manufacturing ecosystem. The centre has been established under the Eicher Group Foundation as part of its local area development initiative.
The newly launched centre aims to deliver long-term social impact by improving access to education, healthcare, and livelihood opportunities, especially for nearby industrial and rural communities.
The E-CDC is designed as a single, integrated platform that brings together multiple development initiatives. It focuses on creating meaningful and measurable impact by addressing key areas such as education, primary healthcare, and women's empowerment.
This initiative highlights Eicher’s commitment to inclusive growth, ensuring that industrial progress is supported by strong community development in the region.
Speaking on the launch, Vigyat Singh, Director at the Eicher Group Foundation, said the organisation’s CSR approach is focused on clear priority areas like education, healthcare, and livelihood development.
He added that the Pithampur centre is the first-of-its-kind integrated model, bringing all focus areas together under one platform to create sustainable and long-term impact for communities.
On the occasion, Bhagwan K. Bindiganavile, EVP – Strategic Planning, Brand & Communications at VE Commercial Vehicles, said that Pithampur is not just a business location but home to communities that have been part of the company’s journey. He emphasized the company’s responsibility to contribute to the socio-economic development of the region and build stronger communities.
The education programs under the E-CDC focus on improving foundational learning for students from grades 4 to 10. The initiative also works towards bringing school dropouts back into mainstream education.
With facilities such as smart classrooms, a computer lab, and digital learning tools, the centre aims to support over 300 students every year, improving both academic performance and digital literacy.
A major focus area of the centre is women empowerment and entrepreneurship. Currently, the program supports:
117 Self-Help Groups (SHGs)
459 women-led micro-enterprises
Coverage across 1,068 households
The initiative also provides skill development training in tailoring and handicrafts, helping create livelihood opportunities for over 150 women annually.
Eicher aims to further expand this effort by scaling up to 500 self-sustaining enterprises, improving income levels and strengthening local economic resilience.
In the healthcare segment, the E-CDC operates a mobile medical unit equipped with trained professionals. This unit provides preventive and primary healthcare services across nearby industrial and rural areas.
Around 3,000 beneficiaries are served every month
Nearly 36,000 people benefit annually
The program not only improves access to healthcare but also promotes better health awareness and preventive care practices among communities.
The Community Development Centre also complements existing initiatives like the Eicher CII Skill Development Academy, which focuses on training youth and connecting them with employment opportunities within the Pithampur industrial ecosystem.
This combined approach ensures that individuals are not only skilled but also have access to real job opportunities, creating a sustainable livelihood cycle.
The E-CDC in Pithampur has been designed as a scalable model that can be expanded to other regions in the future. This reflects Eicher’s long-term vision of responsible business practices and community development.
By integrating education, healthcare, and livelihood support into a single platform, the company aims to create lasting social impact while building stronger and more resilient communities.
The launch of the Eicher Community Development Centre marks a significant step towards inclusive and sustainable development. By addressing core community needs through a structured and integrated approach, Eicher Trucks & Buses is setting a strong example of how industrial growth can go hand-in-hand with social progress. The initiative is expected to bring long-term benefits to thousands of families in and around Pithampur.
