Daimler Truck AG and it's Japanese subsidiary Mitsubishi Fuso Bus and Truck Corporation have announced the delivery to Yamoto Transport Co. of the first Fuso next-generation eCanter.

Daimler Truck's Fuso brand has announced a groundbreaking deal to supply 900 eCanters to Yamoto Transport, a leading logistics and transport company based in Japan. This landmark agreement marks a significant step in the global transition to electric commercial vehicles and underscores both companies' commitment to reducing carbon emissions in the transportation sector.
Daimler Truck AG and its Japanese subsidiary Mitsubishi Fuso Bus and Truck Corporation have announced the delivery to Yamoto Transport Co. of the first Fuso next-generation eCanter. The all-electric truck is the first of 900 such eCanters ordered by Yamoto Transport from Fuso. This is the largest single order ever placed for Fuso's light-duty electric truck eCanter. From now on, the remaining deliveries to the customer will be made in the order listed.
Yamato Transport is adopting the eCanter as part of its goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 48% by 2030 (relative to 2020), and eventually to almost zero by 2050. Yamato Transport will employ Fuso Green Lease, a Daimler Truck Financial Services Asia lease solution built specifically for electric vehicles, for the new eCanter.

Fuso Green Lease provides a comprehensive and customized eMobility ecosystem, including vehicle maintenance services and specific warranties. Fuso introduced the first eCanter in 2017 as Japan's first mass-produced electric locally CO2-free light-duty vehicle, lowering the stress on the driver with low noise/vibration driving.
Several customers in markets all around the world have utilized the Fuso eCanter in their businesses over the last five years and offered detailed feedback based on their real-world experiences. Fuso claims that this customer feedback was utilised in the development of the next-generation eCanter.
Yamato Transport, one of the very first eCanter clients, added 25 first-generation eCanters to its fleet in 2017. Yamato Transport planned to introduce roughly 900 units of the next-generation eCanter across Japan based on their great experience utilizing the eCanter in-home delivery and other logistical services for several years.
"Fuso's eCanter reduces the burden on drivers by offering them safe, low-vibration driving without emissions," stated Karl Deppen, president and CEO of Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation.
The partnership between Daimler Truck's Fuso and Yamoto Transport comes at a crucial time when the world is focusing on sustainable transportation solutions to combat climate change. These 900 eCanters will play a pivotal role in reducing carbon emissions, noise pollution, and operating costs for Yamoto Transport.
The next-generation eCanter was released earlier this year in a variety of European regions, Japan, and other international markets. Fuso debuted the eCanter in Indonesia and Chile for the first time last month.

The Fuso eCanter has already gained recognition worldwide for its performance and sustainability, with fleets operating in Europe, the United States, and Asia.
