Nitin Gadkari, the Government of India's Minister of Road Transport and Highways, unveiled the IeV Series, an electric light commercial vehicle series from the company's EV branch, Switch Mobility. The IeV Series seeks to deliver effective and environmentally sustainable last-mile transportation options.
The 75th-anniversary celebration was a grand event, attended by industry leaders, dignitaries, and Ashok Leyland employees nationwide. The highlight of the day was the unveiling of the new LCV series from Switch Mobility, Ashok Leyland's subsidiary specializing in electric and sustainable mobility solutions.
Future-Ready Technology

The Switch IeV Series (IeV 3 and IeV 4) claims a day-to-day range of up to 300 kilometers (with Opportunity Charging) and a payload capacity of up to 1.7 tons. It incorporates the Switch iON system, which provides vehicle information, real-time insights into the vehicle's whereabouts, operating route, travel history, and the state of EV aggregates, among other things.
These characteristics help make operations more efficient and driving more accessible. The IeV Series, with its 330 V High Voltage EV Architecture, establishes a new bar for efficiency and performance in the 23.5T commercial vehicle market. These vehicles also have a large cargo body that can expand to 9.7 feet and hold up to 340 cubic feet of containers.
"The unveiling of our SWITCH IeV Series electric vehicles is a defining moment for SWITCH, having established a strong reputation in the e-bus market. The Switch IeV Series is a monument to our commitment to promoting good change in the industry, with the SWITCH iON Standard at its core, a wide variety of options, diversified charging solutions, great performance, and operational ease as its hallmarks," stated Mahesh Babu, Chief Executive Officer, SWITCH Mobility.
