LNG-powered trucks, designed for long-haul operations, offer a cleaner alternative to diesel vehicle

Key Highlights:

  • Blue Energy Motors has saved 10,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions by deploying LNG-powered green trucks.
  • This achievement supports India's Net Zero carbon emissions goal for 2070.
  • Commercial vehicles contribute nearly 40% of India's CO2 emissions, highlighting the need for sustainable alternatives.
  • LNG trucks reduce CO2 emissions by up to 30% and cut particulate matter and nitrogen oxides.
  • The company is also exploring electric vehicle technologies to further advance sustainable commercial transport.

Blue Energy Motors, a company focused on clean-energy commercial vehicles, has successfully saved 10,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions. This was accomplished through the deployment of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG)-powered green trucks. This achievement supports India’s goal of reaching Net Zero carbon emissions by 2070, especially considering that commercial vehicles contribute significantly to the country’s carbon footprint.

According to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, although commercial vehicles make up only 4% of the total fleet, they are responsible for almost 40% of CO2 emissions. This highlights the urgent need for cleaner alternatives such as LNG-powered vehicles.

Anirudh Bhuwalka, CEO of Blue Energy Motors, said, "Reaching the milestone of saving 10,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions reflects our strong dedication to bringing sustainable change to the trucking industry. At Blue Energy Motors, we are not only changing logistics with our alternative fuel trucks but also leading the way in green innovation and showcasing the power of clean energy solutions.”

LNG-powered trucks

LNG-powered trucks, designed for long-haul operations, offer a cleaner alternative to diesel vehicles. They reduce CO2 emissions by up to 30%, while also cutting down on particulate matter and nitrogen oxides. These vehicles are proving effective in the shift toward greener logistics, helping fleet operators reduce emissions and operational costs.

Blue Energy Motors is also investing in electric vehicle (EV) technologies for commercial use, expanding its efforts in sustainable transportation. The company’s combined focus on LNG and EV solutions places it at the forefront of India’s green transportation movement.

As India’s logistics sector continues to grow, the need for sustainable solutions is more critical than ever. LNG trucks provide immediate environmental benefits, while EV technologies promise a future with zero emissions.
