Balkrishna Industries Ltd. (BKT), a leading global off-highway tyre manufacturer, has been named the Official Tyre Partner for all five teams in India’s premier women’s T20 cricket championship. The upcoming season will see BKT supporting the Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants, and UP Warriorz.

Expanding Presence in Cricket

This move marks a significant expansion of BKT’s cricket portfolio. The company already holds a year-long partnership with Cricket Australia and recently served as the Naming Partner for India’s ODI and T20 tour in Australia.

Rajiv Poddar, Joint Managing Director at BKT, said, “These partnerships align with our strategy of supporting sporting platforms that promote inclusion and high performance. We are proud to strengthen our presence in cricket while supporting the growth of women’s cricket in India.”

Teams Welcome the Collaboration

Team representatives expressed enthusiasm about the new partnerships. Delhi Capitals CEO Sunil Gupta highlighted BKT’s previous collaboration with the franchise’s IPL team and described the expansion into women’s cricket as creating shared value.

The Mumbai Indians team noted their existing five-year partnership with BKT, calling the collaboration in women’s cricket a natural extension of that relationship.

BKT’s Global Sports Strategy

BKT’s sports marketing strategy spans multiple disciplines worldwide. The company maintains partnerships in Monster Jam, La Liga, Serie BKT football, EuroLeague Basketball, and rugby championships. In India, BKT works with RISE Worldwide as its exclusive sports consulting agency.

Growing Women’s Cricket in India

The partnerships arrive at a time when women’s cricket in India is rapidly growing, offering increasing visibility and opportunities for athletes across all stages of their careers. BKT’s involvement is expected to boost support for women cricketers while strengthening its brand presence in the sports sector.
