BharatRohan and ESCAP Joint Venture Aims to Revolutionize Agriculture and Support Smallholder Farmers

BharatRohan, a leading provider of drone services for agriculture, has joined hands with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).

BharatRohan's mission goes far beyond business, with a strong focus on empowering smallholder farmers, expanding export options, and advocating for sustainable agricultural methods. BharatRohan hopes to incorporate inclusive business practices with the help of ESCAP, expanding its effect on the agricultural landscapes of Telangana and Haryana.

This groundbreaking initiative is a pivotal component of the 'Regional Inclusive Business Models in Agriculture and Food Systems' program, generously funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The program is designed to leverage innovative technologies and business models to enhance agricultural productivity while ensuring inclusivity and sustainability.

BharatRohan's expertise in drone services for agriculture aligns seamlessly with the objectives of the collaboration. Drones have emerged as a transformative tool in modern agriculture, offering precision farming solutions that optimise resource utilization and crop management.

The partnership seeks to integrate drone technology into farming practices, enabling farmers to make data-driven decisions and enhance overall agricultural efficiency.

The states of Telangana and Haryana, known for their significant contributions to Indian agriculture, will be the focal points of this transformative initiative. By introducing state-of-the-art drone technology, the collaboration aims to address various challenges faced by farmers, including crop monitoring, pest control, and irrigation management.

BharatRohan's promise to aggressively involve women farmers in value chain operations, promoting gender-inclusive farming practices, and offering additional income opportunities is an important component of this relationship.

BharatRohan has proved its commitment to inclusive business by obtaining coaching services as part of the ESCAP-supported inclusive business initiative through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Endeva and Ecociate.

BharatRohan CEO Amandeep Panwar expressed delight about the collaboration, saying, "Our mission is to empower smallholder farmers and promote sustainable agriculture in Telangana and Haryana. The ESCAP-supported Inclusive Business Coaching program will be vital in finding critical resources and expert contacts required for the successful implementation of BharatRohan's overall strategy plan. The coaching services will concentrate on improving expertise, addressing regulatory issues, easing entry into foreign markets, and providing farmers with critical training services.

This endeavour is built on BharatRohan's powerful hyperspectral imaging technology, which can identify up to 150 distinct wavelengths. This precision instrument will deliver individualized advise to farmers, revolutionising old agricultural procedures.

Telangana and Haryana, both known for their agricultural prowess, particularly in the cultivation of turmeric, cotton, and chilli, were intentionally picked as the partnership's focus points.

In essence, BharatRohan's collaboration with ESCAP is positioned to pave the path for inclusive agriculture in India, laying the groundwork for the future. BharatRohan expects to increase its position in developing business possibilities and establishing its foothold in export markets as a result of this initiative, which represents a key step toward a more sustainable and equitable agricultural landscape in India.
