The management remains optimistic about growth prospects in domestic markets.

In a report of Q2FY2023, Bajaj Auto Limited reported better in terms of sales. The management remains optimistic about growth prospects in domestic markets, led by new launches, a recovery in three-wheeler sales, and improving industry prospects, but is concerned about exports in the short term, expecting Q3 exports to be higher than Q2FY23.
Rakesh Sharma, executive director of Bajaj Auto, stated that “the market has completely rejected the current generation of electric three-wheelers, as evidenced by the outcomes of a permit issued in the capital city of Delhi. He went on to say that the e-auto is a business concept with strict specifications. We want to create nearly perfect products.” He also added that it is critical to gather feedback from auto drivers before the product is released for sale.
In October 2021, the Delhi Transport Department launched a program to distribute e-auto licences, with approximately 33% of those going to women. More than 20,000 applications for the same have been received by the government. Along with a 5% interest subsidy for financing the vehicle, registration fees, and tax exemptions, the government also provided a Rs 30,000 incentive per vehicle.
However, problems arose almost immediately, as Bajaj Auto filed a petition with the Supreme Court, claiming that the government was being unfair and arbitrary in granting new registrations to only e-autos while excluding e-CNG. The court, however, agreed with the government's argument that the plan is not random because it complies with FAME-II and 2020 Electric Vehicle Policy. Furthermore, it was noted that CNG autos could not be compared to e-autos because, despite complying with BSVI, CNG vehicles were not as environmentally safe as e-autos. In addition, approximately 92,000 CNG auto-rickshaws have been registered.
According to reports, both the technology and the businesses are relatively new to the market, and the products they produce may be exposed to customers for the first time. It is difficult to design a product like an automobile that is perfect for the customers the first time, and as expected, the customers encountered several issues. Pure EV recently made several policies, software, and hardware changes in response to numerous customer complaints about an extremely low range. As a result, purchasing a vehicle from the company's first manufacturing run is a risky decision that could result in a bad experience for the e-auto operator.
Bajaj Auto Limited had previously postponed the launch of three-wheelers during the pandemic. Later, with the pandemic behind it, the company announced that it would launch in Q1FY23, but again company abandon the plans. Bajaj Auto has been developing an e-three-wheeler lineup that includes small and large passenger segments, as well as cargo.
