Dr. K. C. Vora’s Professional Background

Dr. Vora currently holds the position of Program Director at the Automotive Centre of Excellence at NAMTECH. NAMTECH is located at the research park of the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar. He brings over forty years of experience in the automotive industry and academia. His career includes roles at Walchandnagar Industries, Emitec, Mahindra & Mahindra, and the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI).

At ARAI, Dr. Vora served as Senior Deputy Director and headed the ARAI Academy until his retirement in 2021. He is also a consultant with the Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC) and chairs its Expert Group for Electric Vehicles. Dr. Vora has authored more than 120 technical papers, written four books, and holds four patents. He has contributed to BAJA SAEINDIA for over twenty years, supporting automotive education and student engineering initiatives.

Educational Qualifications and Industry Impact

Dr. Vora holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Birla Vishvakarma Mahavidyalaya. He earned a Master’s degree in Automotive Engineering from Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute and a Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. His extensive experience and academic background have made significant contributions to the automotive sector in India.

The appointment of Dr. Vora comes as Atul Auto Limited seeks to strengthen its governance structure. The company is also expanding its presence in the three-wheeler and alternative mobility segments. The board’s decision aligns with ongoing efforts to enhance leadership and industry expertise within the organization.
