Ashok Leyland Recorded Sales of 11,495 Commercial Vehicles in the Domestic Market

Ashok Leyland, the top manufacturer of commercial vehicles in India, unveiled its July sales figures. The data indicates a decrease of 11.97% in overall sales in both domestic and export markets.

In July 2024, the company's domestic commercial vehicle sales declined by 12.03%, with 11,495 units sold as opposed to 13,067 units sold in July 2023. The number of export units sold was 467 units in July 2023, which decreased to 419 units in July 2024, indicating a loss of 10.28%.

The M&HCV truck industry in July 2024 showed a decrease of 20%. It reported sales of 6,254 units, in contrast to 7,834 units in July 2023. Therefore, this CV producer experienced a fall in sales.

Furthermore, its LCV category experienced the same growth as the previous year. The brand sold 5,241 LCVs in July 2024, compared to 5,233 in July 2023. The total Ashok Leyland domestic CV sales report segment sold 11,495 units in July 2024, compared to 13,067 units in July 2023.

According to the July 2024 export CV sales statistics for Ashok Leyland, sales decreased by 10.28%. In July 2024, 419 units were sold, less than the 467 units sold in July 2023.

Further, the LCV category reported sales of 247 units in July 2024, compared to 264 units in July 2023. The brand recorded a sales dip of 6.44% in this category.

However, the M&HCV category saw a sales decline of 15.27%. Under the M&HCV vehicles, the company sold 172 units in July 2024, compared to 203 units in July 2023.

Commercial Vehicle Gross (Domestic + Export) Sales Data, July 2024

In July 2024, Ashok Leyland witnessed an 11.97% decrease in gross CV sales, including a 20% decline in M&HCV categories and 0% growth in LCV.

For gross commercial vehicle sales, 11,914 units were recorded in July 2024, compared to 13,534 in July 2023. Additionally, under the M&HCV truck category, 6,426 CVs were sold in July 2024, compared to 8,037 CVs in July 2023. Within the LCV category, 5,488 CVs were sold in July 2024, compared to 5,497 CVs in July 2023.
