Ashok Leyland is generally acknowledged as India's most dependable commercial vehicle manufacturer. The sales report for march 2023 has been released by Ashok Leyland, the flagship company of the Hinduja Group.

Ashok Leyland Ltd's overall sales for March increased 19% year on year, owing to robust domestic demand. The Chennai-based commercial vehicle manufacturer sold 23,926 units during the month, up from 20,123 units in the previous year and 18,571 units in February.
Domestic sales increased 23% year on year to 22,885 units in March, driven by growth across all sectors. Domestic sales have been strong as a result of demand from the infrastructure and construction sectors, as well as vehicle pre-purchases during the month ahead of the implementation of Real Driving Emissions standards in April.
Throughout the month, the company sold 14,399 units of medium and heavy commercial vehicles in India, up from 12,161 units in march 2022. The total number of buses sold increased from 573 to 1,537.
Domestic light commercial vehicle purchases climbed by 19% year on year to 6,949 units.
In March, Ashok Leyland Export commercial vehicle sales showed a huge fall of 54.01%. It sold 401 units in March 2023, compared to 872 units the prior year in the same month.
M&HCV - In this segment, the company sold 197 commercial vehicle units in March 2023, compared to 561 units in March 2022. The brand experienced a 64.88% decline in the M&HCV category.
LCV- In this segment, the company sold 204 units in March 2023, compared to 311 units in March 2022. The brand experienced a 34.40% decline in LCV.
In the fiscal year that ended on March 31, the medium and heavy truck segment led the company's 50% annual sales gain over the previous year. In total, it sold 192,205 units, compared to 128,326 units in 2021-2022. (Apr-Mar).
The sales data demonstrates that they have generated good overall sales but if we talk about the international market then it is a little bit disappointing for the brand.
