Ashok Leyland, India's leading commercial vehicle manufacturer, reported a growth of 0.24% in overall sales for April 2024, encompassing domestic and export markets. The company sold 11,900 units in April 2024 compared to 11,872 units in April 2023.
Segment-wise Gross CV Sales for April 2024
Mixed Performance: The company recorded a 0.24% increase in Gross Commercial Vehicle Sales, including a 1% loss in M&HCV categories and a 2% growth in LCV.
Category-wise Breakdown: The M&HCV truck category sold 6,752 CVs, down from 6,831 in April 2023. For the LCV category, 5,148 CVs were sold in April 2024, compared to 5,041 in April 2023.

Domestic Commercial Vehicle Sales Declined by 1.97%
In the domestic market, Ashok Leyland witnessed a 1.97% decrease in sales, with 11,372 commercial vehicles sold in April 2024, compared to 11,600 units in the same month last year.
Segment-wise Domestic Sales Performance (April 2024)
M&HCV Truck Segment: The Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicle (M&HCV) truck category reported a drop of 2% in sales, with 6,537 units sold in April 2024 compared to 6,656 units in April 2023.
LCV Category: The Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) category saw a 2% dip, with 4,835 units sold in April 2024 compared to 4,944 units sold in the same month last year.

Growth in LCV Category: Ashok Leyland witnessed a sales growth of 22.86% in the LCV category, with 215 units sold in April 2024, up from 175 units in April 2023.
Impressive growth in the M&HCV Category: Export sales in the M&HCV category experienced a rise of 222.68%, with 313 units sold in April 2024, compared to 97 units in April 2023.
