The Ashok Leyland sold 8,379 units in December 2023 as compared to 10,069 units in December 2022. The company experienced a 17% decline in the sales segment of Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles.
Ashok Leyland, one of India's leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, reported a 13% Decline in total sales in December 2023.
The company sold a total of 14,009 units (domestic+export) in December 2023, compared to 16,019 units in December 2022.
Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles
The company sold 8,379 units in December 2023 as compared to 10,069 units in December 2022. The company experienced a 17% decline in the sales of the Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles segment.
Light Commercial Vehicles
The company sold 5,221 units in December 2023 as compared to 5,713 units in December 2022. The company experienced a decline of 9% in the Light Commercial Vehicles sales segment.
Total Domestic Sales
The Ashok Leyland Commercial Vehicle Sales Report showed a 13.71% decline in December 2023. As per the sales data, 13,618 units were sold in December 2023 compared to 15,782 units in December 2022.

In December 2023, Ashok Leyland Export commercial vehicle sales data 2023 showed a growth of 64.98%. It sold 391 units in December 2023, compared to 237 units in December 2022. The brand experienced a growth of 85.89% and 43.24% in the LCV and M&HCV segments, respectively.
The company exported 106 commercial vehicle units in December 2023, compared to 74 units in December 2022, in the M&HCV category. The company exported 303 commercial vehicle units in December 2023, compared to 163 units in December 2022, in the LCV category.
Ashok Leyland faced a challenging month in December 2023, marked by a decline in overall sales, particularly in the domestic market.
Ashok Leyland has also expanded its presence in international markets, which has contributed to its overall growth. Ashok Leyland has a strong global identity, exporting vehicles to more than 50 countries worldwide.
