Log9 Materials, a battery-to-cell manufacturer, has announced a partnership to deploy its 2000 RapidX batteries on 3EcoSystems Shakti 8 Cargo 3-wheeler EVs across India over the next 18 months. The vehicles would primarily serve e-commerce and hyperlocal logistics companies like Amazon, Flipkart, and Big Basket, among others.
In the long run, Log9 and 3ecoSystems hope to accelerate the establishment of fast-charging infrastructure across their operational cities. Kartik Hajela, Co-founder and COO of Log9 Materials, stated that the last mile logistics sector has matured and is beginning to have an impact on the Indian economy.
As per the press release from the three-wheeler operator 3eco Systems, the vehicles' deployment will begin in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai, and will then be expanded to other metro cities. Over the next 12 months, 3ecoSystems intends to expand to 8 more Tier-1 and Tier-2 cities.
The fleet of Shakti 8 Cargo (S8Ci) EVs has been integrated with smart electronics and has a 35-minute charging capability enabled by the RapidX Log9 batteries.
"We analyze bottlenecks, operational challenges, and other efficiency issues, then work with our strategic partners like Log9 Materials to design solutions for greater productivity based on our operating capabilities," said Peter Voelkner, MD, 3eco Systems.
