RVNL wins ₹165 crore contract from North Eastern Railway.
A bridge is to be built between Paniyahwa and Valmikinagar stations.
Project completion expected within 24 months.
Structure designed for a 25-tonne axle load under RDSO standards.
Adds to RVNL’s growing list of national railway infrastructure projects.
Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has won a significant contract worth ₹165 crore from the North Eastern Railway (NER) for constructing a new bridge substructure between Paniyahwa and Valmikinagar stations. This development is part of the doubling project on the Gorakhpur Cantt–Valmikinagar railway line, which plays a vital role in linking Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
The bridge construction is planned along the 95.95 km railway corridor connecting Gorakhpur Cantt in Uttar Pradesh with Valmikinagar Road in Bihar, under the NER zone of Indian Railways. The project, valued at ₹165 crore, is expected to be completed within 24 months.
Once completed, the new bridge will enhance the efficiency and capacity of train movement in the region, ensuring smoother and faster connectivity between the two states.
The bridge will be built with a double ‘D’-type well foundation, known for its strong and stable design suitable for heavy rail traffic. It will comply with Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO) norms, capable of handling 25-tonne axle loads.
This means the structure will not only support existing rail operations but will also be ready for future capacity upgrades and heavy-duty freight movement, contributing to the long-term infrastructure strength of the North Eastern Railway.
This new bridge contract adds another achievement to RVNL’s growing list of project wins.
Recently, the company was declared the lowest bidder for a ₹144 crore project to upgrade overhead electrification systems on the Ramgundam–Kazipet section under the South Central Railway.
In October 2025, RVNL also bagged a ₹40 crore contract from Western Railway for the maintenance and repair of signalling and telecommunication systems in the Ahmedabad Division.
These wins highlight RVNL’s continued leadership in strengthening India’s rail infrastructure across multiple zones.

The ₹165 crore bridge project between Paniyahwa and Valmikinagar marks another strategic milestone for RVNL and Indian Railways. It will significantly improve cross-state rail connectivity, boost freight movement, and enhance travel efficiency in the North Eastern region, reinforcing India’s push toward modern, high-capacity rail networks.
