For this, the Bihar government is offering farmers up to a 75 per cent discount on refrigerated vehicles. Farmers in this position can purchase refrigerated trucks for 25% of the cost.

Farmers can make a lot of money growing vegetables with grains, pulses, and oilseeds. Today, many farmers grow fruits and vegetables. This provides them with higher benefits. The main challenge faced by the farmers growing fruits and vegetables is determining how to protect the crop and vegetables for an extended period of time.
Farmers, on the other hand, can keep it safe by offering a cold storage facility. However, if the supply of fruits and vegetables is depleted, it will take longer for the fruits and vegetables to arrive. Keeping farmers' concerns in mind, the government has agreed to provide subsidies for refrigerated vehicles used for carrying perishable goods such as fruits, vegetables, and milk from one location to another.
For this, the Bihar government is offering farmers up to a 75 per cent discount on refrigerated vehicles. Farmers in this position can purchase refrigerated trucks for 25% of the cost.

In this post, we are providing information to the farmers about the price, usage, and benefits of the refrigerated vehicle, as well as the government subsidy received on the purchase of a refrigerated vehicle, the application process, and the documents required for the application.

A refrigerated truck is one that is designed to transport perishable commodities at certain temperatures. This includes refrigerator cars, trucks, and vans. These vehicles are used to transport goods such as fruits and vegetables, milk, cheese, eggs, and so forth over vast distances. The most important aspect of these refrigerated trucks is that the goods stored in them do not spoil quickly, allowing crop products to be transported from one city to another and from one state to another.
With refrigerated vans, JCBL filled a much-needed niche in India with their competence in producing bus bodies and application-specific vehicles. Using European mobile cooling system technology, refrigerated vans are designed to meet a variety of needs in the transportation of perishable items, such as dairy, poultry products, fruits and vegetables, or meats and seafood. The vehicle's "chill Plate" technology is the result of 50 years of development. This technology allows the truck to operate without power for 24 hours, lowering the vehicle's overall operating costs.
A technical partnership was formed between JCBL and Cofi Europe S.r.l., one of the top producers of refrigerated trucks in Europe, in order to transform India's distribution system and logistics setup.
Farmers in Bihar are eligible for a 75 per cent subsidy on the purchase of refrigerated vehicles under the Integrated Horticulture Development Mission plan. Individual farmers and businessmen will receive a 50% subsidy, while FPOs and FPCs will receive a 75% subsidy.
For example, if a farmer association, purchases a refrigerated van worth Rs 4 lakh, it can receive a 75 per cent subsidy. A subsidy of Rs 3 lakh is available for a vehicle costing Rs 4 lakh. In this case, the farmer organization can obtain a refrigerated van worth Rs 4 lakh for merely Rs 1 lakh.
At the same time, if the farmer applies in person, he will receive a 50% subsidy. In this case, if the farmer purchases a refrigerated van worth Rs 4 lakh, he will pay half the price, i.e. Rs 2 lakh. Because he will receive a government subsidy of 2 lakh rupees.
Many financial organizations provide short-term loans for the purchase of refrigerated trucks. These institutions can also make loans to you. At the same time, you can apply for this scheme by going to horticulture.bihar.gov.in. Aside from that, you can get further information about this scheme through your district's agriculture or horticulture office.
The following are the important documents:
The Bihar government has set the unit cost of a refrigerated vehicle at Rs 26 lakh under the plan. Individual farmers and entrepreneurs will be eligible for grants of up to Rs 13 lakh under this scheme. Simultaneously, the maximum grant amount available to FPOs and FPCs is Rs 19 lakh.
A refrigerated van or pickup is expected to cost between Rs 1.65 lakh and Rs 26 lakh. The subsidy amount will be paid to you based on the price of the refrigerated vehicle you purchase.
