NABARD and over 450 banks are connected to the digital platform.
Getting a Kisan Credit Card (KCC) has become much easier for farmers across India. The Central Government has introduced the Krishika mobile app, allowing farmers to apply for a KCC loan online without visiting bank branches multiple times.
The new digital platform aims to simplify the loan application process and provide timely financial support for farming activities. The government has also directed banks to process eligible applications quickly, with a target of approving KCC loans within 15 days of receiving the application.
The Krishika app is a secure digital platform developed to help farmers apply for a Kisan Credit Card directly from their smartphones. Instead of visiting a bank branch, farmers can complete the entire application process online.
Once the application is submitted, it is automatically forwarded to the selected bank's loan portal for verification and further processing. The government expects this digital system to make KCC applications faster, more transparent, and easier for farmers across the country.
Farmers can apply for a KCC loan through the Krishika app by following these simple steps:
Download the Krishika App from the Google Play Store.
Register using your mobile number.
Enter your personal details.
Fill in information related to your agricultural land, crops, and bank account.
Upload scanned copies of the required documents.
Submit the application.
After submission, the application is sent directly to the selected bank for verification. Farmers can also track their application status and monitor the progress online through the app.
Farmers involved in agricultural activities can apply for a Kisan Credit Card. Eligible applicants include:
Individual farmers
Joint farmers
Sharecroppers
Tenant farmers
Self-Help Groups (SHGs)
Joint Liability Groups (JLGs)
Applicants must have valid documents related to agricultural land or farming activities as required under the scheme.
While applying through the Krishika app, farmers need to upload clear and valid documents to avoid delays. The required documents include:
Aadhaar Card
Jamabandi or other land ownership documents
Bank account details
Registered mobile number
Passport-size photograph
PAN Card (if required)
Any additional documents requested by the concerned bank
To ensure farmers receive financial support on time, the Central Government has instructed banks to process online KCC applications quickly. The target is to approve eligible loans within 15 days of receiving the application.
Timely approval will help farmers arrange funds for important agricultural expenses such as seeds, fertilizers, irrigation, sowing, pesticides, and other farming requirements without unnecessary delays.
The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has been appointed as the nodal agency for the new digital KCC system.
The platform is connected with:
35 Commercial Banks
45 Regional Rural Banks
Land Development Banks
Around 376 Cooperative Banks
Farmers can choose any eligible participating bank while applying for a Kisan Credit Card through the Krishika app.
To encourage digital applications, Agriculture Departments and Lead Banks are organising awareness camps in several districts. These camps are helping farmers understand how to use the Krishika app and complete the online application process.
According to Amit Dhul, Lead Bank Officer of Alwar, Rajasthan, nearly 1.7 lakh farmers in the district are already benefiting from Kisan Credit Card loans through different banks. He said the Krishika app will further simplify and speed up the application process for farmers.
The Krishika app offers several advantages to farmers:
Apply for a Kisan Credit Card from home.
No need for repeated visits to bank branches.
Faster and more transparent application process.
Online tracking of application status.
Quicker loan processing and approval.
Timely availability of crop loans for farming needs.
Saves both time and travel expenses.
The launch of the Krishika app marks a major step toward digital farming services in India. By enabling online Kisan Credit Card applications, the government aims to make agricultural credit more accessible, transparent, and faster. With simplified procedures, online tracking, and a 15-day loan approval target, farmers can now receive financial support more conveniently and focus on their farming activities without unnecessary paperwork or repeated bank visits.
