Key Highlights

  • Farmers will get a Rs 1000 per acre subsidy for cultivating Dhaincha.

  • Dhaincha improves soil fertility and reduces the need for chemical fertilizers.

  • The Haryana government will transfer the subsidy directly to farmers' bank accounts via DBT.

  • Farmers must upload crop photos on the "Meri Fasal Mera Byora" portal to get the benefit.

  • The scheme aims to cover 4 lakh acres and benefit over 3 lakh farmers in 22 districts.

There is good news for farmers looking to improve soil health and reduce fertilizer costs. The government is now providing a subsidy of Rs 1000 per acre to encourage the cultivation of green manure crops like Dhaincha. Let’s understand what Dhaincha is, its benefits, and how farmers can avail of this subsidy.

What Is Dhaincha and Why Farmers Should Grow It?

Dhaincha is a green manure crop from the legume family. It is usually sown before the main crop and ploughed into the soil before flowering. Dhaincha works as a natural fertilizer and improves the condition of the field.

Major Benefits of Dhaincha Cultivation:

  • Naturally provides nitrogen to the soil

  • Reduces the need for chemical fertilizers

  • Lowers overall cultivation costs

  • Improves soil structure and moisture retention

  • Increases the quality and yield of the next crop

Farmers can sow Dhaincha in vacant fields or before main crop cultivation to enhance soil health without spending much.

How Much Subsidy Is Being Given?

The Haryana government has announced a subsidy of Rs 1,000 per acre for Dhaincha cultivation. This amount will be provided directly to the farmer’s bank account via DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).

According to Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana, this scheme is being implemented for the first time across the entire state. The main goal is to reduce the farmer’s dependence on chemical fertilizers and promote sustainable farming.

Where and How to Apply for the Subsidy?

To receive the subsidy, farmers must follow these steps:

  1. Register on the “Meri Fasal Mera Byora” portal

  2. Upload a photo of the Dhaincha crop in their field on time

Uploading the photo is mandatory. Without this step, the farmer will not receive the subsidy.

The government has set a target of covering 4 lakh acres of land across 22 districts of Haryana. More than 3 lakh farmers are expected to benefit directly from this scheme.

Government’s Vision Behind the Scheme

This scheme aims to:

  • Promote organic farming practices

  • Make farmers self-reliant by improving their soil quality naturally

  • Ensure transparency by connecting farmers to digital platforms

  • Help Haryana become a leading agricultural state once again

CMV360 Says

If you are a farmer and want to improve your soil’s health, reduce farming costs, and increase the yield of your main crops, then this is the right time to grow Dhaincha. You will not only help your land become more fertile but also receive financial assistance from the government.

Take full advantage of this scheme and move towards eco-friendly farming practices.
