Key Highlights:

  • 12.94 lakh tonnes wheat procured from over 3.5 lakh farmers.

  • Slot booking limit increased to 2250 quintals per day.

  • Over 3,000 procurement centres set up across the state

  • MSP ₹2585 + ₹40 bonus, total ₹2625 per quintal

Wheat procurement at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) has gained strong momentum in Madhya Pradesh for the 2026–27 Rabi marketing season. The state government is purchasing wheat on a large scale, ensuring farmers get fair prices along with timely direct payments in their bank accounts.

Over 12.94 Lakh Tonnes Procured from Farmers

According to the Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Protection Department, around 12.94 lakh metric tonnes of wheat have been procured so far from more than 3.5 lakh farmers. This shows that the procurement process this year is both well-organized and moving quickly across the state.

₹1,333 Crore Transferred Directly to Farmers

The government has focused strongly on quick payments. So far, ₹1,333 crore has been transferred directly into the bank accounts of over one lakh farmers. This direct benefit system helps farmers avoid delays and removes the need for middlemen, supporting the rural economy.

More Procurement Centres and Faster Process

To manage large arrivals, the state has set up over 3,000 procurement centres. Facilities have been improved to make the process smooth and faster. The number of weighing machines has been increased, helping reduce waiting time and long queues for farmers.

Big Changes in Slot Booking System

The government has made important improvements in the slot booking system:

  • Earlier limit: 1000 quintals per day per centre

  • Increased to: 1500 quintals

  • Now raised to: 2250 quintals per day

This step allows more farmers to sell their produce quickly. So far, over 7 lakh farmers have booked slots to sell more than 30 lakh metric tonnes of wheat.

Farmers facing issues with land record verification due to technical reasons are now allowed partial slot booking, ensuring wider participation in procurement.

Better Facilities at Procurement Centres

The government has ensured that farmers get proper facilities at procurement centres, including:

  • Shaded seating areas

  • Clean drinking water

  • Gunny bags for storage

  • Weighing machines and sewing machines

  • Computers with internet access

  • Quality testing equipment

  • Cleaning tools like fans and sieves

These facilities aim to make the selling process easy and comfortable for farmers.

MSP with Bonus Gives Higher Returns

Farmers are receiving better prices this season. Wheat is being procured at:

  • MSP: ₹2,585 per quintal

  • Bonus: ₹40 per quintal

  • Total Price: ₹2,625 per quintal

This combined price is higher than market rates, offering farmers improved earnings.

Smooth Storage and Transportation

The government has arranged enough jute and PP/HDPE bags for safe storage of wheat. So far, around 9.69 lakh metric tonnes have already been transported, helping reduce pressure on storage systems.

Overall Impact

The wheat procurement drive in Madhya Pradesh is progressing in a fast, organized, and farmer-friendly manner. With timely payments, better facilities, and an improved slot booking system, farmers are getting significant relief during this procurement season.
