Key Highlights:

Japanese electric vehicle manufacturer Terra Motors has officially appointed its first L5 category dealership in India, located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. This move is part of the company's larger plan to expand across the Indian electric three-wheeler market.

Kyoro+ L5 EV to Be Sold and Serviced by M.M. Enterprises

The new dealership, M.M. Enterprises, will handle sales and service for Terra’s Kyoro+ electric three-wheeler, which is built for both city and semi-urban areas. The vehicle was recently launched on May 27 and has already caught the attention of many prospective dealers.

Over 100 Dealership Enquiries in Two Weeks

After the Kyoro+ launch, Terra Motors has received more than 100 dealership enquiries within just two weeks. The company is now onboarding partners, especially those currently in the L3 (e-rickshaw) segment or existing L5 dealers, to help meet growing demand and new regulatory changes that impact smaller e-rickshaws in urban centers.

Why Dealers Are Shifting from L3 to L5

Mukhtar Ansari, the proprietor of M.M. Enterprises, said his decision to move from L3 to L5 was influenced by new traffic norms restricting CNG and e-rickshaws on main roads. The Kyoro+ offered key benefits like a 200 km range, comfortable ride, affordable pricing, and flexible finance options, making it an ideal fit for customers.

Terra’s Strategy for Dealer Expansion and Finance Support

According to Go Suzuki, Managing Director of Terra Motors India, the dealership appointment reflects the company's strategic focus on building a strong L5 presence. With features like a 5-year warranty, ₹3.65 lakh starting on-road price, and zero down payment via Terra Finance, the Kyoro+ is positioned to attract both dealers and customers.

About Terra Motors and Future Plans

Founded in Tokyo in 2010, Terra Motors has been active in India since 2014 and had a network of over 400 dealerships by 2024. The company is now planning to appoint up to 100 new L5 dealers across major Indian cities. Its EV charging arm, Terra Charge, also plans to install 1,000 charging points to support the country’s growing electric mobility network.
