Tata Motors Limited, India's commercial vehicle market leader, reported selling 81,069 vehicles in the domestic and international markets in January 2023, up from 76,210 units in January 2022.

In terms of commercial vehicles (CV), the company's total sales were 7% lower in January 2023, at 32,780 units, compared to 35,268 units in January 2022. Total domestic CV sales were slightly lower in January 2023, at 31,694 units, compared to 31,708 units in January 2022.

Domestic sales:

In January 2023, sales in the Medium & Heavy Commercial Vehicle segment increased by 24%, while sales in the Intermediate & Light CV segment decreased by -27%.

Sales in the Passenger Carriers segment increased by 68%. The segment of Small Commercial Vehicles and Pickups fell by -11%.

Export Sales:

The brand is experiencing a downward trend in the export sector, with a 69% decrease in sales.
