Tata Motors has delivered the first Prima E.55S electric trucks to BillionE Mobility and secured an order for 250 more units. These trucks, with a 450 kWh battery and 350 km range, will operate across key Indian freight corridors.
The new electric trucks will be deployed in phases. They will operate on key freight routes in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Delhi-NCR, and Haryana. These trucks will support the long-haul movement of steel, cement, and other industrial goods across these states.
The handover ceremony included senior leaders from both Tata Motors and BillionE Mobility. Mr. Girish Wagh, Managing Director and CEO of Tata Motors Ltd., and Mr. Kartikey Hariyani, Founder of BillionE Mobility and ChargeZone, were present. Mr. Rajesh Kaul, Vice President and Business Head - Trucks, Tata Motors Ltd., also attended the event.
The Tata Prima E.55S is part of Tata Motors' electric vehicle lineup. It is based on the i-MoEV platform and features a full-electric drivetrain. The truck uses a 450 kWh battery pack, providing a range of up to 350 kilometers on a single charge.
The vehicle is equipped with a 3-speed Auto Shift transmission and dual-gun quick charging capability. Safety features include a Driver Monitoring System, Lane Departure Warning, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, Cruise Control, Electronic Braking System, and optional Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). The truck also features regenerative braking and a high-performance e-axle system.
The Prima E.55S offers a premium interior designed to improve driver comfort and productivity. These features support efficient long-haul operations and help reduce emissions in the freight sector.
Tata Motors is investing in several alternative fuel technologies. These include battery electric, CNG, LNG, hydrogen internal combustion, and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. The company supplies a wide range of commercial vehicles in India, including trucks, buses, vans, and small vehicles powered by alternative fuels.
