Switch Mobility has launched its first batch of ten EiV12mt intercity electric coaches for Prasanna Purple Mobility Solutions. This marks Switch Mobility's initial deployment of intercity coaches for the commercial sector. The launch event took place in the presence of Madhuri Misal, Minister of State, Government of Maharashtra.
The EiV12mt coaches feature 45 pushback seats, a range of over 300 km per charge, and fast charging capability. These features make them suitable for long-distance intercity travel. The deployment allows Prasanna Purple Mobility Solutions to enter the intercity electric mobility market and strengthens Switch Mobility's position in the commercial sector.
Prasanna Purple Mobility Solutions is deploying the new electric buses on the Mumbai-Pune route. This is one of India's major transit corridors. The deployment is part of a strategic partnership with Vertelo. The total order includes 25 electric buses, with the remaining units scheduled for delivery throughout the year.
This initiative supports the shift toward sustainable and efficient transportation options. It also demonstrates growing confidence in electric buses for high-frequency intercity routes. Operators are increasingly adopting electric mobility as a future-ready solution for long-distance travel.

Ganesh Mani, CEO of Switch Mobility, stated that this deployment expands electric mobility beyond urban areas and strengthens the company's intercity presence. He emphasized that the partnership reflects growing trust in electric buses for routes like Mumbai-Pune, where reliability and efficiency are essential.
Prasanna Patwardhan, CMD of Prasanna Purple Mobility Solutions, described the entry into intercity electric mobility as a significant milestone. He highlighted the goal of offering cleaner and more efficient travel options while enhancing the overall journey experience.
Switch Mobility operates over 2,500 electric buses in India and has achieved more than 185 million green kilometres globally. The company continues to expand in city, intercity, and specialized transport applications. Previous deployments include intercity electric buses for state transport projects like UPSRTC.
