Piaggio Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. (PVPL), the Indian arm of the Italian Piaggio Group, has introduced two new electric passenger vehicles in its Apé Electrik range, the Apé E-City Ultra and the Apé E-City FX Maxx. These new models aim to strengthen Piaggio’s presence in India’s rapidly growing last-mile EV market.

Apé E-City Ultra: High Range and Power

The Apé E-City Ultra Electric three-wheeler is designed for customers who need a longer travel range and stronger performance in city and semi-urban routes. It is powered by a 10.2 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, offering a certified range of 236 km on a single charge. Here are the few key highlights:

A notable tech addition is 4G telematics, which offers live tracking, geo-fencing, and remote immobilization. The vehicle has a full-metal body and is backed by a 5-year or 2,25,000 km warranty.

Apé E-City FX Maxx: Affordable Electric three-wheeler

The Apé E-City FX Maxx is a more budget-friendly option in the electric three-wheeler space. It features an 8.0 kWh battery, delivering a certified range of 174 km. Here are a few key highlights:

The FX Maxx uses prismatic cell battery technology for better thermal performance and includes energy monitoring features that help users manage the battery life effectively. This model is suitable for typical city usage with lower power needs and shorter trip requirements.

  2. Apé E-City FX Maxx: ₹3,30,000 (ex-showroom)
  3. Both models are available across all Piaggio dealerships in India.
