In this article, we present the December 2022 automobile sales figures for Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Eicher.

Tata Motors, India's commercial vehicle market leader, reported a wholesale of 32,954 units in the domestic market, a 06.30% increase from December 2021.

Automobile manufacturers have released sales figures for December 2022. Most automakers have reported strong sales increases as a result of the holiday season and some experienced flat growth In this article, we present the December 2022 automobile sales figures for Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Eicher.

Tata Motors

Tata Motors, India's commercial vehicle market leader, reported a wholesale of 32,954 units in the domestic market, a 06.30% increase from December 2021.

M&HCV sales increased by 34.30% to 10,885 units, while I&LCV sales decreased by 11.30% to 4,548 units. The largest category in terms of volume, small commercial vehicles and pickups, reported a 9.50 % drop to 14,827 units.

Tata Motors' Export CV Sales Report December 2022 reveals that the brand sold 995 CV units in December 2022, a 68.3% decrease from 3,143 CV units sold in December 2021.

Tata Motors Truck Sales Report revealed a 0.6% overall decline, with 33,949 sold units in December 2022, compared to 34,151 CV units sold in December 2021. The company reported a 1.3% increase in domestic sales in the third quarter of the fiscal year 2023 compared to the third quarter of the fiscal year 2022.

Ashok Leyland

Ashok Leyland, one of India's largest CV manufacturers, has released truck sales figures for December. Ashok Leyland has delivered a strong performance as demand for its trucks and buses remains strong.

The brand's total vehicle sales were 15,782, which was 10,878. As a result, the brand generates a 45.08% increase in truck sales figures in December 2022. In which the LCV segment generated 5713 sales, a 21% increase over 4741 sales. Furthermore, the M&HCV segment sales were 6137 in December 2021, rising to 10,069 in December 2022. As a result, the segment increased by 64%.

Ashok Leyland's export sales dropped by -61.77% across the board. They sold 237 commercial vehicle units in December 2022, compared to 620 units sold in the same month in the previous year. The segment sales are as follows: the M&HCV segment sold 74 units, compared to 462 units in December 2021. As a result, M&HCV sales fell by -83.98%.

Mahindra & Mahindra’s

Mahindra is the well-known market leader in the SCV segment (Small Commercial Vehicle). Mahindra has released commercial vehicle sales data, and it is clear that the company has established a positive business trend. The brand creates products based on the needs of its customers and their work.

Mahindra sales data for December 2022 revealed steady sales growth in all segments. The LCV 2T category increased by 7% in December 2022, with 3,031 units sold compared to 2,822 units in December 2021. Similarly, sales of three-wheelers (including electric vehicles) increased by 104%. In December 2022, Mahindra sold 5,052 three-wheelers in India, up from 2,480 units in December 2021. The LCV 2T - 3.5 T category saw a 29% increase in CV sales in India. According to the Mahindra Truck Sales Report December 2022, the company sold 16,170 LCV Units (2T - 3.5T) in December 2022, up from 12,532 in December 2021. The LCV > 3.5T + MHCV category increased by 51%, with 879 Mahindra trucks sold in India in December 2022 compared to 584 units sold in December 2021.

The December Mahindra Export CV Sales Figure 2022 shows 3,100 units sold, a 3% increase over the 3,017 units sold in December 2021. However, the total Commercial Vehicle Sales Data in December 2022 increased by 4% over the previous year.

Eicher Trucks

The total Truck sales for 2022 of the VECV joint venture is 6,103 units in December 2022, up from 5,702 units in December 2021. As a result, the venture's sales increased by 7.03%.

They sold 5,885 units compared to 5,550 units in December 2021, resulting in a 6.03% increase in sales. Eicher's segment-wise truck sales in India were encouraging. The LMD (3.5-15T) segment increased by 5.80% last month, selling 3,748 units compared to 3,541 units in December last year. Simultaneously, Heavy Duty truck sales in India increased by 49.4% in December 2022.
