NACOF Ooorja, a well-known renewable energy developer sponsored by NACOF has launched a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) called E Astra NACOF Ooorja Pvt Ltd. NACOF is a multi-state Cooperative Society under the Ministry of Agriculture.
E Astra NACOF Ooorja will act as NACOF Ooorja's agricultural mobility arm, offering farmers with battery-powered equipment and vehicles adapted to their specific requirements. The main aim of SPV is to promote sustainable farming techniques and increase agricultural profitability in India.
These products include agricultural equipment such as the E-Weeder, E-Reaper, E-Brush cutter, and the E-Cargo multi-utility three-wheeler. The SPV also introduces a 20-litre Milking Cum Chiller unit specifically developed for sustainable dairy farming.
As part of its main objectives, E Astra has established an Advanced Technology Center (ATC) committed to developing a Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) that manages all functions of an Electric Vehicle (EV) powered by Electric Vehicle Range Extender technology.
The SPV's agricultural offerings, developed locally using indigenous technologies, are consistent with the Make in India concept. NACOF Oorja's development into the agricultural sector is clear, especially considering its recent colaboration with a Nashik-based electric mobility startup dedicated to enhancing rural and agricultural mobility in the country.
Ram Iqbal Singh, Chairman of Nacof Oorja, stated, "Farmers are our Annadata, and providing their community with cutting-edge indigenous and affordable agricultural equipment that runs on clean energy will increase their productivity. Also, our digital farming solutions, which include artificial intelligence and data analysis, will provide them with important information about crop status, weather updates, and irrigation, streamlining their work in a hassle-free manner."
