The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) is getting ready to roll out its very first air-conditioned electric bus. This bus will operate on the Nashik-Saptashrungi Gad route.

This effort is a significant development because it is the first time an air-conditioned bus service will operate on this route. These eco-friendly buses will travel 12 times per day, with six round journeys starting at 5 a.m. and ending at 6:30 p.m.

"At present, these buses exclusively operate along the Nashik-Borivali route. The decision to extend the e-bus service to the Saptashrungi Gad route follows persistent requests from commuters for enhanced bus services," explained a senior officer from the Nashik division of MSRTC.

"The primary aim behind introducing these services is to offer comfortable, air-conditioned travel options to passengers, especially catering to the needs of pilgrims," the officer elaborated.

The premium service costs Rs 170 per adult. MSRTC officials verified that the government's travel concessions will also apply to this new service.

On a daily basis, the state transportation utility operates approximately 25 buses on the route, some of which go straight to the temple and others to the base in Nanduri village, from where another set of buses travels between Nanduri village and the temple.
