Montara Electric Forms Alliance With Exponent Energy

Both companies want to produce 3-wheelers that can be charged fast, making them more convenient for consumers and decreasing downtime by combining Montara Electric's expertise in electric vehicles with Exponent Energy's cutting-edge technology.

Montara Electric, the EV brand of Murugappa Group, has partnered with Exponent Energy, an energy-tech startup. The main aim of this collaboration is to create rapid-charging electric three-wheelers that will offer innovation to the electric vehicle market.

This partnership means that Montara Electric and Exponent Energy will join forces to make rapid-charging electric 3-wheelers.

As per Sushant Jena, Head, Montra Electric 3W Division, Exponent Energy will provide a 15-minute Rapid charging option to Montara Electric customers as part of the partnership,

Furthermore, Montra Electric will release a rapid charging 3W vehicle that will be equipped with Exponent's 8.8 kWh epack and will achieve zero to 100% charge in 15 minutes at Exponent's epump charging network while also being slow charged at home.

According to Arun Vinayak, Co-founder and CEO of Exponent Energy, 15-minute rapid charging eliminates charging anxiety and is critical to achieving the uptime and flexibility in operations required for last-mile mobility.

Customers would have the same amount of freedom as ICE vehicles when refuelling while reaping all of the benefits of adopting electric, he noted.
