The New Super Carry's key product highlights include front disc brakes, reverse parking sensors, seatbelt reminders, an engine immobiliser system, a larger steering wheel with the lighter operation for better manoeuvrability, smoother gearshifts, and improved ride comfort.
Maruti Suzuki India introduced the Super Carry, an enhanced version of its mini-truck. The Super Carry is the company's only commercial vehicle in India.
It comes in four models, with costs starting at Rs 5,30,500 (ex-showroom). The most noticeable change with the Super Carry is that it now has a more powerful engine. A new CNG cab chassis variant is also available, allowing buyers to personalize their Super Carry to their exact needs.
Maruti Suzuki currently owns 4% of the Indian CV market, with 962,468 vehicles sold in FY2023. In FY2023, 38,006 Super Carry were sold, a 12.40% increase over the 33,812 units sold in FY2022. The Super Carry has sold 157,959 units since its debut in September 2016 and will continue to do so through the end of March 2023.
The Maruti Super Carry went on sale in India on September 1, 2016. The Maruti Super Carry will now be powered by the company's 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder, K-Series dual jet, dual VVT engine, which produces 59.4kW (80.7ps) at 6000rpm and 104.4 Nm torque at 2900rpm in petrol, up from 54kW and 98 Nm in the previous model.
It produces 52.7 kW at 6000 rpm and 95 Nm at 2800 rpm while running on CNG. This is the same engine found in the Wagon R, Swift, Baleno, and the forthcoming Fronx. The petrol Super Carry has a maximum weight of 740kg, while the CNG version has a payload of 625kg.
It has a 5-speed manual transmission. The enhanced five-speed manual transmission delivers greater gradeability, making it easier to drive up steeper hills than the previous model.
Maruti Suzuki has unveiled a new CNG cab chassis variant with the launch of the new Super Carry (Rs 615,500, ex-showroom Delhi). The CNG Deck (Rs 630,500), Petrol Deck (Rs 530,500), and Petrol Cab Chassis (Rs 515,500) variants of the mini-truck are also available.
Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India, commented on the new Super Carry launch, saying, "The Super Carry, built for the unique requirements of the Indian mini-truck customer, has been accepted well in the commercial vehicle segment, with more than 150,000 units sold since its launch in 2016. Customers will continue to benefit from the new Super Carry's exceptional value proposition. We are convinced that it will be a great companion and collaborator in our commercial customers' success."
The New Super Carry's key product highlights include front disc brakes, reverse parking sensors, seatbelt reminders, an engine immobiliser system, a larger steering wheel with lighter operation for better manoeuvrability, smoother gearshifts, and improved ride comfort. The mini-truck CNG variant retains its unique selling point of a 5-litre emergency petrol tank.
The Super Carry, which is available only through Maruti Suzuki's over 370 commercial shops in over 270 locations across India, has a variety of applications, including e-commerce, courier, FMCG, and product delivery.
