India’s electric bus sales surged 54% in December 2025. Switch Mobility led the market, followed by JBM Auto and PMI Electro, showing strong demand momentum.

India’s electric bus market recorded strong growth in December 2025, driven by higher fleet adoption and government-backed e-mobility programs. According to the Vahan Dashboard (as of January 2, 2026; Telangana data not included), total electric bus sales stood at 569 units, up from 369 units in November 2025, showing a 54% month-on-month growth.

Switch Mobility emerged as the largest electric bus seller in December 2025. The company sold 175 units, a sharp rise from 54 units in November. With a growth of 121 buses, Switch captured the highest market share of 30.8%, making it the clear market leader for the month.
JBM Auto secured the second position with 138 electric buses sold in December, compared to just 20 units in November. This strong jump of 118 units helped JBM gain a 24.3% market share, reflecting a major improvement in monthly performance.
PMI Electro Mobility ranked third, registering 127 units in December 2025. Sales increased by 54 units from 73 units in November, giving PMI a solid 22.3% market share and keeping it among the top electric bus OEMs.
Olectra Greentech sold 97 electric buses in December, slightly higher than 90 units in November. With a modest growth of 7 units, Olectra maintained a stable position and secured a 17% market share.
Pinnacle Mobility witnessed a sharp decline in December 2025. The company sold 10 units, down significantly from 126 units in November. This drop of 116 units resulted in a 1.8% market share for the month.
Tata Motors reported 9 electric bus sales in December 2025, compared to zero units in November. The company accounted for a 1.6% market share, indicating a limited but noticeable presence.
VE Commercial Vehicles sold 8 units in December, up from zero units in November. The OEM held a 1.4% market share during the month.
Aeroeagle Automobiles registered 5 electric buses in December 2025, compared to no sales in November. The company captured a 0.9% market share.
Azad India Mobility reported no electric bus sales in December 2025, down from 6 units in November, resulting in zero market share for the month.

December 2025 highlights the rapid expansion of India’s electric bus market, led by Switch Mobility’s dominant performance and strong growth from JBM Auto and PMI Electro Mobility.
