Blue Energy Motors believes that this accomplishment will allow it to reinforce its position as a game-changer in the clean energy-fueled heavy transport sector, leading the Indian trucking industry's green revolution.
Blue Energy Motors is a zero-emission truck technology start-up based in Pune. FPT Industrial has purchased a minority stake in Blue Energy Motors.
The investment demonstrates FPT Industrial's full support for the growth of Blue Energy Motors, as well as its ambitious objectives to decarbonize India's transportation.
FPT Industrial, a subsidiary of the Italian automotive and financial services giant Iveco Group, will assist in expanding the use of LNG trucks and collaboratively developing the next-generation heavy-duty Electric (BEV) Truck platform for the Indian market.
Through this collaboration, Blue Energy Motors will be able to reinforce its objective to decarbonize India's transportation industry by co-developing a heavy-duty Electric (BEV) Vehicle with FPT Industrial.
Blue Energy Motors inaugurated its Pune facility in September 2022 and launched India's first Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) fueled truck.
"Strengthening our cooperation with FPT Industrial will help us to continue in the development of the firm into a pioneer of clean and green energy solutions including a range of LNG and electric vehicles in the next years," said Anirudh Bhuwalka, CEO of Blue Energy Vehicles.
"We want to deliver transportation solutions that help customers all over the world run their businesses more efficiently and profitably while also protecting the environment. This investment and our relationship are further evidence of FPT Industrial's commitment to pushing breakthrough solutions for sustainable mobility," stated Sylvain Blaise, President of – the Powertrain Business Unit, Iveco Group.
Blue Energy Motors' market introduction of LNG-fueled trucks began with the inauguration of the factory in Chakan, Pune, by Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, and the subsequent launch of the 5528 4x2 trucks. FPT Industrial is already supplying LNG engines to Blue Energy Motor's LNG trucks.
Blue Energy Motors believes that this accomplishment will allow it to reinforce its position as a game-changer in the clean energy-fueled heavy transport sector, leading the Indian trucking industry's green revolution. FPT Industrial's expertise in building next-generation heavy-duty BEVs for the Indian market will also be available to the company.
