FADA Sales Report April 2025: Three-wheeler YoY sales increased by 24.51%

In the FADA sales report for April 2025, 99,766 units of three-wheelers were sold compared to 99,376 units in March 2025.

Key Highlights:

The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) has shared its vehicle retail data for April 2025, showing a 0.39% increase in sales compared to last month.

Category-Wise Three-Wheeler Sales Performance in April 2025

Total Three-wheelers sales: A total of 99,766 three-wheelers were sold during the month. In March 2025, sales were 99,376 units, and in April 2024, sales stood at 80,127 units. This means there was an increase of  0.39% in MoM and a 24.51% YoY sales.

E-Rickshaw (Passenger): In this segment, 39,528 units were sold in April 2025. In March 2025, sales were 36,097 units, and in April 2024, sales stood at 31,811 units. This means there was an increase of  9.50% in MoM and a 24.26% YoY sales.

E-Rickshaw with Cart (Goods): In this segment, 7,463 units were sold in April 2025. In March 2025, sales were 7,222 units, and in April 2024, sales stood at 4,215 units. The category showed a growth of 3.34% MoM sales and a 77.06% YoY sales.

Three-Wheeler (Goods): In this segment, 10,312 units were sold in April 2025. In March 2025, sales were 11,001 units, and in April 2024, sales stood at 9,080 units. This shows a 6.26% MoM decline and a 13.57% YoY increase.

Three-Wheeler (Passenger): In this segment, 42,321 units were sold in April 2025. In March 2025, sales were 44,971 units, and in April 2024, sales stood at 34,959 units. The shows a 5.89% MoM decline and a 21.06% YoY growth.

Three-Wheeler (Personal): In this segment, 142 units were sold in April 2025. In March 2025, sales were 85 units, and in April 2024, sales stood at 62 units. This results in a 67.06% MoM and 129.03% YoY growth.

Three-Wheeler FADA Sales Report: OEM-wise Sales Performance

Bajaj Auto sold 32,638 units in April 2025 compared to 29,934 units in April 2024.

Piaggio Vehicles PVT LTD. sold 6,355 units in April 2025 compared to 5,892 units in April 2024.

Mahindra & Mahindrasold 6,278 units in April 2025 compared to 3,810 units in April 2024.

YC Electric Vehicle sold 3,365 units in April 2025 compared to 2,939 units in April 2024.

TVS Motor Company sold 3,148 units in April 2025 compared to 1,588 units in April 2024.

Atul Auto sold 2,015 units in April 2025 compared to 1,764 units in April 2024.

Saera Electric Auto sold 1,795 units in April 2025 compared to 1,967 units in April 2024.

Dilli Electric Auto sold 1,758 units in April 2025 compared to 1,612 units in April 2024.

J.S. Auto sold 1,207 units in April 2025 compared to 788 units in April 2024.

Energy Electric Vehicles sold 1,172 units in April 2025 compared to 953 units in April 2024.

SahniAnand E Vehicles sold 1,095 units in April 2025 compared to 600 units in April 2024.

Unique International sold 1,077 units in April 2025 compared to 956 units in April 2024.

Mini Metro EVsold 1,042 units in April 2025 compared to 962 units in April 2024.

Other brands sold 36,821 units in April 2025 compared to 26,362 units in April 2024.

Total three-wheeler sales in April 2025 stood at 99,766 units compared to 80,127 units in April 2024.

Leadership Insights:

FADA President Mr. C S Vigneshwar shared that the new financial year started steadily, with overall vehicle retail sales in April growing by 3% compared to last year. All segments except commercial vehicles (CVs) saw growth. Two-wheelers sales grew by 2.25%, three-wheelers by 24.5%, passenger vehicles by 1.5%, and tractors by 7.5%. CV sales, however, dropped by 1%.

The April 2025 FADA report shows a steady demand for three-wheelers, especially in the electric rickshaw segment. The 24.51% yearly increase shows the growing interest of customers in affordable and electric transport options. While some categories like goods and passenger carriers saw a slight monthly dip, the yearly growth across most brands and segments reflects positive growth.
