In April 2025, India’s electric vehicle (EV) sales showed mixed performance. The sales of passenger electric three-wheelers (E3W L5) decreased to 13,128 units in April 2025, compared to 13,539 units in March 2025. In April 2025, cargo electric three-wheeler sales (E3W L5) decreased to 2,418 units, compared to 2,701 units in March 2025.

Electric three-wheelers (E3W) are an important category of the electric vehicle (EV) market in India, as they offer affordable, convenient, and eco-friendly mobility solutions for both passengers and goods. In this news, we will analyse the sales performance of E3W L5 in the goods and passenger segments for April 2025 based on the Vahan Dashboard data.

E-3W Passenger L5 Sales Trend

According to Vahan Dashboard data, the E-3W L5 Passenger category sold 13,128 units in April 2025 compared to 4283 in April 2024. The E-3W Passenger L5 segment witnessed YoY growth in sales.

OEM-wise Electric Three-Wheeler Passenger L5 Sales Trend

The sales figures for Electric Three-Wheeler Passenger L5 have shown some remarkable growth in April 2025. Here is the sales performance of Top OEMs in April 2025:

Bajaj Auto showed impressive growth by selling 5,131 units in April 2025 compared to the 1,195 units sold in April 2024. In March 2025, the company sold 4,754 units. The Y-O-Y and M-O-M sales increased by 329% and 7.9%, respectively.

In April 2025, Mahindra Last Mile Mobility sold 4,512 units in April 2025, compared to the 1,781 units sold in April 2024. In March 2025, the company sold 5329 units. The Y-O-Y sales increased by 153%, and the M-O-M sales declined by 15.3%.

TVS Motor Company recorded a strong MOM growth of 63.6%, with 1206 units sold in April 2025, compared to 737 units sold in March 2025.

Piaggio Vehicles sold 1,002 units in April 2025, which is lower than the 1,224 units in March 2025 and higher than the 541 units in April 2024. The Y-O-Y sales increased by 85%, and M-O-M sales decreased by 18.1%.

TI Clean Mobility sold 499 units in April 2025, which is lower than the 537 units in March 2025 and higher than the 194 units in April 2024. The Y-O-Y sales increased by 157%, and M-O-M sales decreased by 7.1%.

E-3W Goods L5 Sales

According to Vahan Dashboard data, the total number of E-3Ws sold in the L5 Goods category was 2,418 units in April 2025 compared to 1,747 in April 2024. The E-3W Cargo L5 segment witnessed a growth in Y-O-Y sales.

OEM-wise E-3W Cargo L5 Sales Trend

The sales data for Electric Three-Wheeler Goods L5 in April 2025 shows varied performances across different brands, with some experiencing notable growth:

Mahindra Last Mile Mobility: The company sold 571 units in April 2025, which is lower than the 702 units in March 2025 and higher than the 555 units in April 2024. The Y-O-Y sales increased by 2.9%, and M-O-M sales decreased by 18.7%.

Bajaj Auto: The company sold 378 units in April 2025, which is lower than the 539 units in March 2025 and higher than the 85 units in April 2024. The Y-O-Y sales increased by 344.7%, and M-O-M sales decreased by 29.9%.

Omega Seiki: The company sold 329 units in April 2025, which is higher than the 238 units in March 2025 and 240 units in April 2024. The Y-O-Y and M-O-M sales increased by 37.1% and 38.2%, respectively.

Euler Motors: The company sold 296 units in April 2025, which is lower than the 342 units in March 2025 and higher than the 165 units in April 2024. The Y-O-Y sales increased by 79.4%, and M-O-M sales decreased by 13.5%.

Piaggio Vehicles: The company sold 141 units in April 2025, which is lower than the 165 units in March 2025 and 158 units in April 2024. The Y-O-Y and M-O-M sales decreased by 10.8% and 14.5%, respectively.

The April 2025 sales figures highlight Bajaj Auto as the top performer in the passenger electric three-wheeler segment, selling the most units and showing strong year-on-year and month-on-month growth. In the goods segment, Omega Seiki stood out with notable growth, although Mahindra sold the highest number of units. This suggests that brands selling more units are gaining stronger market presence and buyer trust in both passenger and cargo EV categories.
