EKA Mobility launches 10 electric buses in Arunachal Pradesh, enhancing clean public transport with modern, AC buses built for hilly terrain.
Key Highlights:
EKA Mobility started its electric bus operations in Arunachal Pradesh. Chief Minister Pema Khandu flagged off 10 electric buses on World Environment Day. These buses have been supplied to the Arunachal Pradesh State Transport Services and mark the state's step forward in clean and modern public transport. The newly launched buses will serve urban routes in Arunachal Pradesh. They are built with accessibility features and climate control systems to ensure passenger comfort and efficiency in daily operations.
Buses Delivered Through Government Tender
The electric buses were delivered under a tender process carried out by Convergence Energy Services Limited. Each of these buses is 9 meters long, air-conditioned, and built with a 900mm floor height. This design helps improve accessibility for passengers while meeting the needs of the state's hilly terrain.
Built for Arunachal’s Roads
EKA Mobility manufactured the buses keeping Arunachal Pradesh’s geographical conditions in mind. These electric buses are expected to improve intra-city transport while offering a cleaner alternative to diesel buses. The move also strengthens electric vehicle adoption in India's northeastern states. Launching the buses on World Environment Day highlights their role in reducing pollution. Through this effort, Arunachal Pradesh has become one of the states promoting electric vehicles to help India move toward cleaner transportation.
Leadership Insight:
Rohit Srivastava, Business Head and Chief Growth Officer of EKA Mobility, spoke about the launch. He said, “We are honored to contribute to Arunachal Pradesh's vision for a greener future. Our vehicles are proudly designed and made in India, showing our commitment to sustainable innovation that fits different Indian regions.”
