EKA Mobility will provide 1000 intercity electric buses in 12-meter and 13.5-meter sizes to GreenCell Mobility over the next five years as part of this agreement.

GreenCell Mobility and EKA Mobility have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). EKA Mobility will manufacture and supply 1000 intercity electric buses in 12-meter and 13.5-meter sizes to GreenCell Mobility over the next five years as part of this agreement. The program intends to revolutionize public transportation while also significantly contributing to environmental sustainability.

Public transportation electrification will result in cleaner air, calmer streets, and more efficient, convenient, safe, and cost-effective travel for all. EKA is dedicated to creating products that are both sustainable and environmentally sensitive. The brand intends to create new benchmarks in commercial electric mobility by combining their experience and contributing significantly to the nation's sustainability goals.

Dr Sudhir Mehta, the Founder and Chairman of EKA Mobility, highlighted the importance of the partnership, emphasizing that the collaboration with GreenCell Mobility is designed to lead the way toward a cleaner and more sustainable future through the widespread adoption of electric buses.

Dr. Mehta highlighted the multiple benefits that electrification of public transportation can bring, including cleaner air, quieter streets, enhanced efficiency, convenience, safety, and cost-effectiveness for all commuters.

The project is predicted to have a significant environmental impact, with an estimated yearly fuel cost savings of INR 70 crore and the avoidance of 120 lakh gallons of diesel, which is comparable to planting 15 lakh trees.

GreenCell Mobility's MD and CEO, Devndra Chawla, expressed excitement about the relationship, saying, "We are delighted to announce our collaboration with EKA Mobility, a leader in the electric vehicle domain. The effort is expected to have a daily positive impact on around 6 lakh people by developing a more sustainable and efficient public transportation infrastructure. Overall, it is expected to reduce 32400 tonnes of CO2 emissions, matching with global and national sustainability goals and representing a significant step toward a cleaner, more sustainable future.
