The Delhi Government has launched a new public transport project called the Delhi Electric Vehicle Interconnector (DEVi). This move aims to improve last-mile travel between metro stations and main bus terminals. Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta flagged off the new fleet, which supports the goal of better urban mobility through clean transport methods.
Launch Event and Vision
The DEVi initiative was introduced at a special event attended by several important leaders, including Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan. This step follows the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to promote modern and sustainable transport in cities.
First Phase of Rollout
In the first stage, 400 electric buses have been added to the roads. These buses will mainly serve East and West Delhi. Some of the areas covered include Ghazipur, Vinod Nagar East, and Nangloi. The new service will help thousands of daily commuters reach their final destinations more easily.

Each DEVi bus includes 23 seats. Out of these, six seats are reserved for women. There is also space for 13 standing passengers. Women passengers can travel free, while the regular fare is between ₹10 and ₹25. Buses will run every 10 minutes, offering fast and regular service throughout the day.
