India’s commercial vehicle retail sales rose sharply in October 2025, reaching 1,07,841 units, up 49.52% MoM and 17.69% YoY, according to FADA. The LCV segment led with 64.33% MoM and 29.84% YoY growth, while MCV rose 19.78% YoY and HCV dipped slightly YoY. Mahindra & Mahindra topped the market with 34.48% share, followed by Tata Motors, reflecting strong festive demand and improving freight activity nationwide.
FADA Three-Wheeler Retail Sales Report October 2025: 1,29,517 Units Sold Across India
India’s three-wheeler sales rose to 1,29,517 units in October 2025, up 31% MoM and 5.43% YoY, driven by festive demand and strong rural mobility. Bajaj Auto led with 50,986 units (39.37%), followed by Mahindra & Mahindra (12,780 units) and Mahindra Last Mile Mobility (12,775 units). TVS Motor and Piaggio posted strong growth. FADA data shows a steady rise in goods and passenger carrier demand across India.
Sonalika Sets New Industry Benchmark with Record 27,028 Tractor Sales in October 2025
Sonalika Tractors achieved its highest-ever monthly sales of 27,028 units in October 2025, marking 34.8% growth, 2.3 times higher than the industry average. The company gained 2.2% market share, setting records in production, deliveries, and billings. This milestone reflects strong farmer trust, operational excellence, and Sonalika’s continued commitment to empowering Indian farmers with advanced, reliable, and high-performance tractors.
Domestic Tractor Sales Rise to 1,66,145 Units in October 2025, Up 14.84% YoY
India’s domestic tractor sales reached 1,66,145 units in October 2025, growing 14.84% YoY amid strong festive demand. Mahindra & Mahindra Group led with 72,071 units, while Sonalika posted the highest growth of 37.66%. TAFE Group achieved solid gains, and other brands like New Holland and Captain showed steady improvement. The sector remains optimistic ahead of the Rabi season with strong rural sentiment.
India’s retail tractor sales rose to 73,577 units in October 2025, up from 64,416 units last year, showing strong festive and rural demand, as per FADA. Mahindra & Mahindra led with 16,934 units (23.02%), followed by Swaraj with 13,367 units (18.17%). TAFE, Escorts Kubota, and Eicher recorded solid double-digit growth, reflecting increasing farmer confidence and expanding mechanisation in the agricultural sector.
ICRA has raised its FY2026 tractor industry growth forecast to 8-10%, up from 4-7%, driven by a strong 108% monsoon, improved farm output, and a GST cut to 5%. Tractor sales rose 45% YoY in September 2025, supported by festive demand and dealer inventory buildup. With low debt levels, strong OEM finances, and a solid FY2025 base, India’s tractor industry is set for sustained growth ahead.
Tractor makers have urged the government to delay TREM-V emission norms for 25–50 HP tractors until 2028, citing higher production costs and complex maintenance. They warn that early implementation could make tractors expensive for small farmers. The Tractor and Mechanization Association (TMA) has proposed the 2028 deadline, emphasizing the need for affordable, farmer-friendly solutions while supporting cleaner technology. The government’s final notification is still awaited.
