Chartered Speed launches 10 electric buses in Arunachal to support clean, reliable, and eco-friendly public transport.

Key Highlights

Chartered Speed has taken a big step toward sustainable transportation by deploying 10 electric buses in Arunachal Pradesh. This initiative is part of its collaboration with the Arunachal Pradesh State Transport Service (APSTS) and aims to improve public transport while supporting green mobility in the region.

Electric Buses Flagged Off in Key Cities

On June 5, 2025, the new fleet of electric buses was officially flagged off by Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein. These 9-meter, air-conditioned buses will operate in the cities of Itanagar, Namsai, and Pasighat.

To ensure smooth operations, charging stations have been strategically installed. These stations help reduce downtime by allowing quick charging, which ensures better service reliability for passengers.

Focus on Eco-Friendly Travel

Sanyam Gandhi, Whole-Time Director of Chartered Speed, shared the company’s vision during the event. He said,

At Chartered Speed, we believe that sustainable mobility should not be limited by geography. Our association with APSTS and the deployment of electric buses reflect our commitment to building a cleaner, more connected future where even the most remote regions benefit from modern, eco-friendly transportation solutions.

He also added that this effort is part of a larger goal to speed up India’s shift to green mobility and create future-ready transport systems.

Fleet Transition Underway

Chartered Speed is steadily moving away from traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. The company is adopting green fuel-powered buses as part of its long-term plan to promote clean and sustainable transport.

Currently, Chartered Speed operates a large network of more than 1,800 buses across Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Assam. These buses serve around 3.5 lakh passengers every day, with the support of over 4,800 employees.

Nationwide Expansion with CESL

Apart from the recent addition in Arunachal Pradesh, Chartered Speed is also expanding its green fleet across the country. The company has bagged a major contract to operate over 900 electric buses in 13 cities across three states under Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL).

CMV360 Says
