Two new all-electric commercial vehicles have been unveiled at IAA Transportation 2022 in Hannover, Germany, by Cenntro Electric Group, a US-based EV technology company with cutting-edge, market-validated electric commercial vehicles. The Logistar 260 (LS260) and Logistar 100 (LS100) join the LS product family, which is now available globally in Class 1 to Class 4.
The LS260 measures 5.5 metres in length, 1.85 metres in width, and 2 metres in height. It has a 7.5 cubic metre load capacity, two side loading doors, and convenient rear doors with a cargo openness of up to 270 degrees. The LS260 is designed for a wide range of applications for skilled trades, couriers, express and package services, logistics solutions, and facility management, with a payload of roughly 1,280 kg and a range of up to 270 kilometres.
"The LS 260 completes Cenntro's commercial vehicle lineup, offering fleets and businesses with best-in-class EV technology that supports the most robust operating cycles," said Peter Wang, Chairman and CEO of Cenntro, at the vehicle's world premiere.
The first all-electric commercial vehicle sales are scheduled for the first quarter of 2023 in Europe, followed by market launches in Asia, the Caribbean, and South America. The LS 100 is a versatile, compact, light cargo van designed to suit a variety of business needs, particularly in densely populated urban regions. The vehicle has a WLTP range of 74 miles, a payload capability of 1151 pounds, and a cargo capacity of 73.3 cubic feet. This small city runabout's luggage area and several access ports on the side and rear of the vehicle make it perfect for a variety of applications such as fast delivery and tradesmen's emergency services, hospitality, and site management.
In July, the LS100 passed all homologation tests by European Union (EU) standards and criteria, and the EU granted type certification in August. As a result, the LS100 can be purchased in all 27 EU member states as well as those countries that follow EU vehicle homologation criteria.
"Our goal is to provide customizable electric vehicles to our customers that fulfil the needs of various sectors and application areas," said Gregory Hancke, Senior Vice President of Operations of Cenntro Automotive Europe.
Along with the LS100 and LS260, the full Cenntro product line, including the German-built electric transporter Metro, the larger Logistar 200, and the Logistar 400 Class 4 truck, will be on display at IAA Transportation. Cenntro's product line is on display at the IAA Transportation 2022 in Hall 13, Stand E51, as well as at the open-air site at Stand L51.
Cenntro had sold or put into operation over 3,700 vehicles in over 25 countries across North America, Europe, and Asia as of December 31, 2021.
