The Deming Grand was established in 1969 and is one of the awards given by the Union of Japanese Scientists and Engineers (JUSE) for achievement in Total Quality Management (TQM).
The Deming Grand Prize is awarded to organizations that have won the Deming Prize and have maintained and improved their Total Quality Management (TQM) practices for more than three years.
Ceat, one of India's biggest tyre manufacturers, has been awarded the renowned Deming Grand Prize, making it the world's first tyre brand to get this honour in 2023.
The Union of Japanese Scientists and Engineers (JUSE) presents the prize, which is one of the world's most renowned quality honours. The prize is also a boon for the Indian tyre industry, demonstrating that Indian firms can compete with the best in the world.
The Deming Grand Prize is awarded to organizations that have won the Deming Prize and have maintained and improved their Total Quality Management (TQM) practices for more than three years. Ceat has been on the TQM road for almost 15 years, and in 2017, it became the first tyre firm outside of Japan to receive the coveted Deming Prize.
The tyre manufacturer received the Deming Grand Prize for its success in Total Quality Management (TQM), a management technique that focuses on the continual development of all parts of an organization with the goal of providing consumers with the greatest quality products and services. It demonstrates that TQM is a realistic and effective management method.
