Caterpillar (CAT) has introduced the FM528 General Forestry/Log Loader, a new heavy-duty machine designed for forestry and mill-yard operations. Built for durability and high performance, the FM528 offers efficiency, power, and versatility to handle challenging work environments.

The FM528 is a tracked machine equipped to perform various forestry tasks, including:

It is also compatible with Caterpillar’s forestry grapples, available in sizes ranging from 1,322mm to 1,524mm, making it adaptable for different job needs.

New Blade and Heel Configuration for Greater Control

One of the FM528’s standout features is its fixed or live heel and blade configuration a first in Caterpillar’s forest machines. This innovation allows operators to:

Its electrohydraulic system ensures smooth and precise operation. Additionally, the engine works at low RPMs, reducing wear and tear and lowering maintenance costs.

The machine also features a cooling E-Fan system with a reverse function, helping regulate temperature and improve engine efficiency.
