Bolt.Earth launches Blaze DC, India’s first universal DC fast charger for electric two- and three-wheelers, offering fast, compatible, and smart charging across major cities.
Key Highlights:
Bolt.Earth has launched Blaze DC, the first universal DC fast charger made specifically for electric two- and three-wheelers in India. The launch took place in Bengaluru to bridge the gap in EV charging infrastructure. These vehicles make up over 80% of India’s electric fleet. The launch event featured a demo of Blaze DC with the Bolt.Earth Charging App. The app currently supports over 37,000 charging points in 1,700 cities and has over 224,000 active users.
Made in India, Built for All
Blaze DC is developed and manufactured in India. It supports both Type 6 and LECCS Type 7 connectors, making it compatible with popular EV brands such as Ather, Ola, Ultraviolette, Hero MotoCorp, Matter Motors, and Simple Energy.
Fast Charging with Smart Features
The 12kW version of Blaze DC can give up to 120 km of range in just 15 minutes. It is designed with a modular structure for easy maintenance. It also includes real-time error detection and remote diagnostics to reduce downtime. Bolt.Earth aims to support 90% of fast-charging-enabled two- and three-wheelers within the next year. The company will install these chargers in cities like Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Kerala, and Pune.
With Blaze DC, Bolt.Earth strengthens its position as a complete EV solution provider. It offers charging hardware, software, real-time tracking, installation, and maintenance. Their customers include Tata, Bajaj, Mahindra, SAP, and American Express.
Leadership Insights:
Raghav Bharadwaj, CEO of Bolt.Earth, said the new charger is made for everyday users like auto drivers, delivery partners, and small business owners. He emphasized that Blaze DC is designed by Indian engineers using Indian infrastructure and marks the beginning of a faster and more inclusive EV ecosystem.
Dr. Shiv Shankara N, Managing Director of BESCOM, was the chief guest at the event. He said BESCOM has installed over 200 EV chargers in Karnataka and is ready to upgrade to fast chargers. He expressed interest in working with Bolt.Earth to grow Karnataka’s EV infrastructure.
Growing EV Market in India
India is expected to sell over 5 million electric scooters every year by 2027. However, charging options are still limited and expensive for small businesses and gig workers. Blaze DC aims to fix this issue. Bolt.Earth runs the largest EV charging network in India with over 37,000 charging points in more than 1,700 cities. Its app allows easy scan-pay-charge access, and the company offers 24/7 support along with business tools like charger APIs and a Charger Management System.
