In a groundbreaking development for the sustainable transportation sector, Blue Energy Motors has emerged triumphant by clinching a substantial contract with CONCOR. The company has been awarded an impressive order for 100 LNG (liquefied natural gas) trucks, marking a significant stride toward greener and more eco-friendly freight transportation.
Blue Energy Motors has announced that it has received an order for 100 LNG-powered trucks from Container Corporation of India Ltd (CONCOR). CONCOR, a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Railways, is one of India's top containerised multimodal logistics service providers, and it contributes to the development of multimodal transport and logistics infrastructure to serve India's expanding domestic and international trade.
Blue Energy Motors' initial product, the BE 5528+LNG tractor, marked the company's entry into the green energy-fueled heavy-duty truck business. The BE 5528+LNG trucks, according to the business, have top-notch performance, a cutting-edge telematics system, and an ergonomically built interior for secure, comfortable long-distance travel with best-in-class TCO.
The BE 5528+ employs a multipoint stoichiometric combustion engine from FPT Industrial (IVECO Group) for best-in-class fuel efficiency and quieter operation than diesel engines. Blue Energy Motors is owned by FPT Industrial in a minority share.
With 280 horsepower and 1000 Nm of torque, Blue Energy claims it is "the best natural gas vehicle available on the Indian market." The truck has the class's first 990-litre cryogenic LNG tank, allowing it to go up to 1,400 kilometers on a single fill.
With this lengthy travel range and the forthcoming LNG dispensing network, Blue Energy Motors claims that adequate coverage across critical routes in India would be available without regular refills.
